Vocational education
In Loviisa and the neighbouring municipalities there are several schools offering vocational training.
Edupoli and Point College combined their strengths in 1.1.2019 by creating Careeria. Careeria educates youths and adults in Finnish, Swedish and English and it also has own apprenticeship activities. The co-owner municipalities are Porvoo, Sipoo, Loviisa, Askola and Lapinjärvi, and the operating region is the entire Eastern Uusimaa as well as the Helsinki region.
The supply of Careeria covers around twenty different educational branches and the examination selection boasts over 80 basic educational, vocational educational and specialized vocational degrees. The consolidated company also includes the daughter company Edupoli Oy, which works on the free market. There are all in all 10 branch offices: 5 in Porvoo, Loviisa, Askola, Vantaa, Helsinki and Kerava.
Other institutions in the nearby area offering vocational education are
- Inveon in Porvoo
- South Kymenlaakso Vocational College in Kotka and Hamina
- Kouvola Vocational Institute in Kouvola.
